Team Mixed Nuts in the Relay for Life!

For the second year, in honor of Karlyn Gutierrez, we have formed a team in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. As her family, we want to honor her memory by helping to raise funds for cancer research and bring hope to so many other families who are facing this disease. We’re excited about being able to contribute to the fight against cancer.

We’ve learned first hand how important the work of the American Cancer Society is. They play a big role in helping people deal with cancer by promoting awareness, providing information, helping educate medical professionals, and supporting advanced research. The Relay for Life is a 24-hour team event that lets people who have been impacted by cancer contribute to the Society’s efforts, and it gives everyone – the teams and their supporters -- a simple, practical way to make a difference.

So today we discovered that we have a real, live badger living on our property. It was fun to watch him roll around in the sun for about an hour this afternoon. They're supposed to be very beneficial for ridding your property of gophers, ground squirrels & rattle snakes. We'll be keeping a close eye on Zoey!

Lost and Found

Hey Everyone, I was searching my e-mails for something and came across this old e-mail from mom while I was on my DTS. I thought it too precious not to share with you all. I love you guys :)

"Hi Sweetheart, Hope this finds you feeling well and trusting Jesus. His grace is so amazing. His eyes so piercing. His love for us so purposeful. His cleansing not burning, but purifying like a cool stream. His changes subtle and not overwhelming. He guides in gentleness but His gentleness is not soft and comfortable like His embrace. His gentleness exudes His rich understanding of who we really are. His deep soul calling to our deep soul. Sometimes when I can see the truth so clearly, I want to reach out and pull it into my heart and make it part of me. It doesn't work that way, I run down the road and He allows me to see all that He has ahead. Then I jump and leap at the sweetness of it all but it flies past my hand like a beautiful butterfly. He calls to me, with that big brother laughing voice. Come back here Silly, I turn to see the Truth. There He is down on one knee with arms open wide. I've allowed you to see the truths ahead, not to capture them, but to see they are unattainable. Those are only pictures of the truth. I am the Truth. Glimpses are good. They are fun and exciting. If you want to hold them you need only to hold my hand when we walk. Certainly run ahead, take in the glimpses. Dance in the journey. To attain it all, turn around, take my hand and dance with me. Not before me but with me.
As much as I tried to work the truth into my life this week I still failed not once but twice.(and that's just the ones I'm aware of) How many years to I have to repeat the lesson of Him not me. How long before I get it? It's not wake up and do, its wake up and yield. Hey you're on gotta go..."

Our family is doing the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. We're excited about being able to contribute to the fight against cancer so we're part of a 24 hour relay on May 17-18 to help raise money for the ACS.

Family pictures

Hey everybody-
Well my plan for taking family pictures of everyone over the holidays didn't quite work out. I did get one of Anthony's family & one of Paul's family, but I wasn't able to take any others with all of our hectic schedules. I would still LOVE to get family shots of everyone else in 5x7s to put up on my wall. It doesn't need to be anything dressy, just have someone take a nice picture of your whole family together. I'd be happy to take the picture if your family is up here. Hope to see your smiling faces soon!!! =)
